Let's Make Kidnapping Illegal (again)
Across the US, there's an unprecedented epidemic of kidnappings by people dressed as federal agents and masked criminals - often as both!! It’s dangerous. We're fighting back. Join the movement.
Sure, kidnapping is already technically illegal. It’s a crime under US federal law — kidnappers can serve 25 years to life — and it’s illegal in each of the 50 states, under their laws.
But we’re in an unprecedented situation where for the past several months, federal law enforcement has been run by criminals in a kind of ongoing coup — with federal agents being ordered to ignore and break US and local laws.
There are ways to fight this larger problem, but they take time, and meanwhile, criminals dressed as law enforcement — often refusing to show any ID and wearing masks!! — are wreaking havoc, abducting innocent people, and insisting the abductions are arrests. They know it will take the courts months to rule they’re actually illegal kidnappings. But it’s quite obvious.
Real arrests require the officers to identify themselves and present a warrant from a judge for a specific person. It’s in the Constitution as well as federal and state law.
So believe your eyes and ears — the criminals are the people with the masks, refusing to identify themselves, threatening citizens — and trying to abduct people, without warrants.
This is all so strange that state Attorneys General have had trouble catching up. State and local law enforcement are likewise unprepared — the perps’ “we’re the police” and anonymous badges are just confusing enough that few of these kidnappings are interrupted in real time except by brave citizens, and few are being investigated and prosecuted by state law enforcement yet. That has to change.
CITIZENS ARE ALREADY FIGHTING BACK AND WINNING!
The great news is, Americans aren’t waiting! You’re about to see video of ordinary citizens from all over the country non-violently stopping ICE thugs in their tracks and chasing them away. As of this week we’ve got a constant flow video of folks successfully resisting and holding people accountable, with more videos going up every day and dozens to seed our launch on Good Trouble Day, the John Lewis anniversary.
It’s happening so widely and so abruptly, we’re not seeing it much on corporate news media yet — or even most social media, unless the user is already tuned in! A huge historic civil rights movement, still under the radar — full of brave people who need help, advice, allies, and confidence they’re not the only ones struggling to do the right thing.
That’s why we’ve launched Make Kidnapping Illegal. Since people care about their neighbors, and only criminals want kidnapping to be easy, it’s quickly becoming a thriving organic movement — even with no planning, organization or leaders.
The Movement to Make Kidnapping Illegal is led by millions of brave citizens: witnesses, raising their voices and cameras; illegally targeted residents and their attorneys; neighbors and loved ones, journalists, app developers, human rights activists, patriots who respect the US constitution, and many more. We’ve gradually gotten help from federal courts, local police, an alert Attorney General, and numerous creative and unexpected contributions. But these criminals move fast — we have to move faster!
There’s more every day — new court rulings, new bills, statements from governors and law enforcement.
And especially, there’s a sudden huge flow of video showing we have a right, a duty, and often an ability to resist these thugs when we see them! In barely a week, even Facebook has gone from banning such videos (by marking them as Spam) to feeding some users a huge stream of new ones every day. It’s almost as if The Algorithm abruptly noticed people LOVE watching and sharing videos of brave patriots standing up to criminal bullies, and is now on a mission to leverage that engagement!
Every day there’s wonderful news, scary news, and important guidance on how to keep your families and neighbors safe.
BREAKING NEWS
Here are just a few highlights from recent days:
COURT WINS FOR IMMIGRANTS AND STUDENTS
• The courts have already concluded that most of the people being abducted aren’t criminals; that the kidnappers’ lawyers lie to the courts and are evidently guilty of contempt; and that the paid kidnappers following illegal orders often don’t even know who they’re abducting, never mind having a signed judicial warrant to grab them. So they’re not really arrests; it’s much more like a terror campaign against the public. (Down the road these rulings will likely become evidence in actual terrorism charges in state and federal RICO prosecutions.)
KIDNAP VICTIMS RESCUED!
Thanks to these court rulings, kidnap victims Mahmoud Khalil, Mohsen Mahdawi, and Rumeysa Ozturk have all been located and rescued! Some of them had been locked up in intentionally torturous hellholes since March. They’re FREE! Their court cases are in progress and they’re using their freedom to deter future kidnappings and help rescue others.
Khalil said he plans to share any settlement money [$20M] with others targeted in Trump’s “failed” effort to suppress pro-Palestinian speech. In lieu of a settlement, he would also accept an official apology and changes to the administration’s deportation policies.
NEW COURT WIN FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Last Friday a federal court ruled the recent mass arrests in Southern California are evidently unconstitutional — granting restraining orders to stop the profiling and raids, and guaranteeing victims access to counsel. Of course the Department of Homeland Security and ICE challenge such rulings, but score one for the Constitution and the victims, primarily in the Los Angeles area. A week later, amazing videos show ICE getting chased out of town all over California!
STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT STEPPING UP
• big news — it looks like the first Attorney General with the balls to call “bullshit” — and admit masked kidnappers aren’t real law enforcement — is a woman.
“Real lawmen and women don’t wear masks,” Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes told reporters. “Law enforcement across the state of Arizona does their jobs honorably. They do their jobs professionally. They do their jobs every day without masking themselves and hiding who they are.” Of course, ICE is pushing back. But now everyone in Arizona knows that when a citizen interrupts a masked kidnapper and demands identification, the chief of Arizona law enforcement is on our side.
We’re seeing videos of people chasing away masked figures who claim to be ICE, who when they’re challenged, run away — Mayes understands some of them are carjackers, kidnappers and other criminals. It’s insanely reckless to have masked and anonymous people - often armed - treated like law enforcement! Only criminals would condone it.
What’s your Attorney General doing? Reach out to them and share video of citizens doing what state and local police should handle. Recommend a policy update so when DHS alerts local police of impending action (they often do), they’re told federal agents must have IDs and warrants visible — or should expect witnesses to call 911 for local help thwarting a crime. Cultivate friendly local and state police. And let us know what’s happening in your state and neighborhood here at Make Kidnapping Illegal.
• ICEBlock app has become the #1 Social Networking app at the App Store!
It’s easier than ever to alert your neighbors when kidnappers are in the neighborhood.
Evidently millions of Americans are already quietly using this free app. To download it, click this link from an iPhone.
Welcome to the Movement
You’ll see, the Make Kidnapping Illegal movement is already huge, dispersed, diverse, currently unorganized, fast-paced — and full of courage, suspense, creativity, irony — even joy.
We’re working with attorneys, with local law enforcement in multiple states, partnering with other Substacks, and much more. The movement will succeed if we share it widely and quickly.
EARLY HERO VIDEOS
You personally can make a huge difference in your neighborhood— especially if you’re a US citizen, you don’t have the wrong accent, or your skin reflects lots of ambient light. (Racial profiling was specifically called out in Friday’s court ruling and injunctions.)
Here’s video of a brave citizen who knows his rights, investigating whoever’s been trying to kidnap his neighbors. As
says, “A citizen shows us the totally professional way ICE agents react if they think they’re being followed.”As you can see, in the end our hero is rescued by REAL federal law enforcement — a Peace Officer! They’re not all thugs, mercenaries and terrorists. We love real law enforcement. In this scene, the good one is outnumbered and can’t simply arrest the thugs or easily demand their IDs. But we mustn’t let their behavior be normalized.
And here’s another brave, inspiring citizen, rescuing her colleagues from abduction. When she demands ID from the masked “agents” they nervously flash something that must be from the Halloween store. They’re not even ICE! They’re other thugs, trying to cash in on the permissive climate of fear, just as Attorney General Mayes warned!!
Don’t be fooled. Most people don’t realize — if you dare to stand your ground, the thugs often vanish! If you know your rights and what to say, and a camera is rolling, by the time they leave they’re on the defensive and reluctant to return.
Check out our Notes and join our Chat. Read comments — and leave one with your own brave video or a key lesson. Share news about a relevant incident or court case.
Photograph a thug, make a WANTED poster, and post it widely — with your state Attorney General’s phone number on it, so we know he’s paying attention.
Make good trouble.
This unprecedented period in US history is rightly compared to the brownshirts who terrorized the helpless in Germany 90 years ago. They’ve got a running start - but if we reach out and leverage today’s social media now, we can stop them in their tracks.
So — instead of just watching fantasy movies about crime fighting heroes this summer, while helpless immigrants fend for themselves — you can be a real hero! Step up to defend your workplace, your values, your constitution, your country and your neighbors.
The simplest way to help is sharing this introductory post with friends. Let’s protect one another while we still can.
